Clare Whittaker – Soul Action

Clare moved to South Africa, from England, in January 2012 to join Soul Action South Africa as their Children’s and Family Work Co-ordiantor.  She brings to this role 15yrs experience working with children and families in a number of different contexts and an MA in Children’s and Youth ministry.

 

Karen Lombard – Grace Family Church

Karen Lombard is married to Hank and has three beautiful daughters. She has been the Children’s Ministry Director at Grace Family Church for the last 8 years and is passionate about serving children’s workers and setting them up to win. She believes that the church needs to partner with families to help children discover who Jesus is and develop a meaningful relationship with him.

 

Janet Prest Talbot – Children’s Rights Centre

Janet Prest Talbot works at the Children’s Rights Centre in Durban where she is a trainer in children’s rights practice, child participation, child protection and has a special passion for the child’s ‘right to play!’.  She is author of 3 books on the above subjects and has studied theology in the UK and UNISA.

 

Cathy Boucher – Westville Baptist Church

Cathy moved just over 2 years ago from PE to Durbs to head up the kids’ ministry at Westville Baptist Church. She is married to Jeff and has just had a little boy Jed. She loves God’s church and has been involved in youth and kids ministry for the last 15 years. God has really been shaping her heart in regards to the home and the importance of faith being passed on in the home and not just on a Sunday!

 

Marc Hardwick – The Guardian

Marc started The Guardian in 2009 after working as a policeman for 13 years, with a vision to protect. He believes every person has an obligation to ensure a child’s right to safety so that their childhood can be filled with joyful memories and not nightmares. With a counselling qualification and an unwavering passion for fighting crimes against children, Marc considers dealing with crimes against the most vulnerable members of society, a personal crusade.

 

Karin Scheurwater – Kings Kids South Africa

Karin is from the Netherlands, married to Ad and they have three children. In 2002, after completing the Family Discipleship Training School in the Netherlands, Karin and her family moved to South Africa to work with YWAM. They did a PCYM Course (Principles in Child and Youth Ministry) in Cape Town with the University of the Nations and in 2007 moved to Johannesburg to start King’s Kids ministry. A year later they became the national co-ordinators for King’s Kids South Africa, which now operates from Durban. Karin’s passion is to train children, youth and their families in hearing God’s voice and to see them released in their God-given destiny.

 

Revd Benjamin Aldous – St Martin’s Anglican Church, Durban North

Ben is the Assistant Minister at St Martins’, Durban North. Ben is passionate about mission and how we can become partakers in the mission of God. He is particularly interested in Fresh Expressions of Church being appropriate church growing strategies here in South Africa. He is a doctoral student at UNISA.

Formerly a cross cultural church planter in rural Cambodia Ben, his wife Sharon, and their three children love rice, Jazz and hanging out together.

 

Freeman Muswaka – Sethani Community Centre

Freeman Muswaka is originally from Zimbabwe but has lived in South Africa since 2006. He is passionate about young people and sharing life skills. He works at Sethani Community Centre as their Resource Centre Co-ordinator/Youth worker. He believes Christ is the hope of the World.

 

Gabriella Webber – Scripture Union

Gabby works as a full time volunteer with Scripture Union South Africa. She is passionate about helping young South Africans recognize their potential in Christ, to help them be transformed by God’s Word, so they become effective Christian members of Society.

 

Lerato Machabe – Inkanyezi Crèche

Lerato is the Deputy Supervisor of Inkanyezi Crèche .  Besides being a devoted wife she is also a mother and caregiver to 8 children.  She and her family live in Jamaica, Chesterville

 

Heidi Wit - Inkanyezi Crèche

Heidi is the Principal of Inkanyezi Crèche & Community Care Centre.  She came from the USA as a young missionary. Being a mother of 4 and grandmother of 2, she is passionate about ‘intentional’ parenting.
